Step-by-Step Guide to Getting Started with Signal.org

To fully engage with Signal.org and make the most out of its secure messaging features, follow this detailed step-by-step guide. This guide will walk you through downloading Signal, setting up your profile, joining Signal groups, inviting others, and learning more about the platform.

Step 1. Get Signal

• Ensure your connection to signal.org is secure by checking for HTTPS in your browser’s address bar and a lock symbol.
• Download the Signal app for both your mobile device and desktop by visiting https://signal.org/download/.

Setup a Signal Profile

• Register your phone number by following the instructions provided at https://support.signal.org/hc/en-us/articles/360007318691.
• Fill out your profile, name, and avatar image

• Create a Signal PIN for added security. Remember, never store your PIN or passcode in an unencrypted space that you don’t control.

2. Join a few Signal Groups & introduce yourself

When you join a Signal Group, it is best to introduce yourself by sharing some of the following:

1. preferred name,
2. how you were introduced to Signal, and
3. what purposes you are interested to share with the group

3. Invite your people

• Invite people sending them this message with a Group link (found under Groups Settings of each channel):
